Frequently asked questions

What is dodgehub?

dodgehub is a web app for dodgeball and other amateur sports clubs. It combines a club shop with order sessions, payment tracking, guest orders, a team directory and a player progress tracker. See the overview of dodgeball club management software.

Who built it, and why?

dodgehub was built by Alex, a software developer who plays dodgeball, for his own club. He kept it generic enough for other clubs to use. It is a small, independent project, not a venture-funded platform.

Is dodgehub free?

Yes. dodgehub is free for clubs and every feature is included.

Do we need to install anything?

No. dodgehub runs in the browser on a computer or phone. Members register or join through a link and use it like any website.

Does dodgehub process payments or take a commission?

No. Buyers pay your club directly through the method you publish, such as bank transfer or PayPal. dodgehub only tracks the status of each payment. There is no commission and no payout.

How do we know who has paid?

Every order shows a payment state. Buyers can report that they paid, and a manager verifies it against the bank account. One click sends a reminder to everyone who still owes for a session. See tracking who paid.

What is an order session?

A session is one round of ordering with a title, a start date and an end date. Members can order only while it is open. When it closes, you place a combined supplier order. See the club shop page.

Can I use it for jerseys with names and numbers?

Yes. Products can have text, dropdown, colour and number fields, each optionally required, plus size charts. That is exactly what a jersey order needs. The guide on organizing a team jersey order shows a full example.

Can people who are not members order?

Yes. Each session can have a private guest link. Guests order without an account, get an order reference and can look up the status later. Details are on the page about guest and external orders.

How do new members join our club?

Through a join link or code. You can require staff approval so that every newcomer waits until a manager accepts them.

What roles are there?

Every club has one owner, any number of managers and its members. Managers run the shop, orders and team. Members order and see their own orders. Ownership can be transferred.

Who can see player evaluations?

Only the evaluation committee scores players. Managers decide whether players can see their own results and whether all members can see everyone's published scores. See the progress tracker page.

Which languages are supported?

English, German, French and Spanish, in the app and on this website. The French and Spanish website texts are machine-drafted and awaiting review.

Can I belong to more than one club?

Yes. One account can be a member of several clubs and you switch between them with the workspace selector.

Is it only for dodgeball?

No. It was built in a dodgeball club, but any small volunteer-run club can use it. See the page for amateur and youth sports clubs.

What does dodgehub not do?

It does not schedule fixtures, build tournament brackets, keep league tables, bill membership fees or replace your club website. The features overview lists what it does do.

What happens to our data?

dodgehub stores the account, club and order data needed to run the app. Details on hosting, analytics and the contact form are in the privacy policy.

How do I suggest a feature or report a problem?

Use the feature requests page inside the app to vote on ideas or suggest your own, or send a message through the contact form on the home page.
